Hone your skills. Create quality music. Learn all you need for life as an electronic music artist.
Love electronic music? The BA (Hons) Electronic Music and Business degree is tailor made for you. Sharpen your skills. Hone your sound. Learn all you’ll need for life as an electronic music artist.
At WaterBear, we believe in smaller class sizes for effective learning, reinforced with personal 1-1 mentoring. We also believe you should have the freedom to explore what’s possible and push creative boundaries. That’s why all electronic music producers on our 3-yr degree course learn in small groups on pro-standard gear in environments specially designed to fuel creative output.
Every week, you’ll hone production skills, sound engineering techniques, compositional skills, and expand your creativity. You’ll be able to showcase your music live on stage in a real music venue, or in the studio. And you’ll learn all you need to know about the realities of being a professional electronic music artist in today’s music industry. There are also regular networking events, masterclasses, collaboration and work opportunities so you can build your all-important contacts list.
As an electronic music artist, we know it’s all about having the technical skill to unlock creative potential. It’s also about finding your sound and developing the confidence to communicate what’s in your head. And knowing how and when to use different technologies is essential for that. That’s why music tech is fundamental to the course, using our cross-platform, state-of-the-art Apple Mac studios and DJ / mixing suite. And, like every other WaterBear student, you’ll get access to all the other courses at the college, so you can dive into as much other content as you want.
All students at WaterBear get bookable access to a recording studio and DJ / mixing suite, as well as free rehearsal time. So you won’t need to worry about where to create, record, mix and master your music.
The BA (Hons) Electronic Music and Business degree is designed to give you the perfect blend of artistic freedom alongside practical strategies to forge your own career in music.
It’s flexible and comprehensive so you can study in a way that suits you. And you can build your own music projects into the course. It’s fully accredited and approved by one of the UK’s leading specialist universities for the creative industries, Falmouth University.
And for students studying on the 2-yr online course, you’ll also receive a £750 bursary to invest in new equipment, a Pro Tools subscription and a Slate All Access software bundle, so you can learn on your own gear.
